It is a personal research, writing, and educational platform. Paid offerings on this site (including Field Notes) are sold by her personally, not by a nonprofit.
Dr. Matziorinis is also the director of the Hidden Information Labs Institute (HILI), a separate nonprofit organization. HILI is not the operator of this website and is not the seller of Field Notes or other subscriptions offered here. Some writing on this site discusses research, methods, and insights connected to work conducted at or with HILI. Where that material is her intellectual property, HILI may use it under a separate license for HILI’s own programs. That arrangement does not make HILI a party to your use of this site or to a Field Notes subscription.

Subscribers and visitors are granted a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to read and use content for their own learning. You may not:

Field Notes is a paid subscription service offered and sold by Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis personally (sole proprietorship), not by HILI. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe at the listed price for the plan you choose (for example monthly or yearly, when both are offered). By subscribing, you agree to recurring charges on that billing interval until you cancel.
A subscription provides access to all current and future Field Notes for the duration of your active subscription. New notes are delivered to your email inbox as they are published. You also have access to the subscriber portal to read the full archive.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access until that period ends. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.
Subscriber access is personal and non-transferable. Sharing login credentials, access links, or subscriber-only content with others is not permitted. Access may be revoked if these terms are violated.
The current subscription price is the amount shown at checkout on Stripe (or on any payment link we publish for Field Notes, including monthly and yearly plans when offered). We may change subscription pricing for new subscribers at any time. A price change does not alter the price of an existing active subscription unless and until that subscription is cancelled and later restarted, or you explicitly agree to a new price. We may update listed prices without amending every past invoice or archived checkout page. Continued use after we post updated terms constitutes acceptance of those terms, including any pricing policy stated here.

This site collects as little personal data as possible. Here is what is processed and where:
This site does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking tools. No behavioral data, browsing history, or usage patterns are collected or stored by the site operator.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data held about you at any time. In practice, the data held is limited to your email address (in Stripe and Brevo). To exercise any rights, or if you have questions, contact: annamaria@hiddeninformationlabs.io.
Your rights under applicable privacy legislation, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), are respected.
